privacy, plans & keys
how your data is handled, what the plans cost, and the optional bring-your-own-keys setup.
the practical stuff: your privacy, what folk costs, and an optional power-user setting.
your privacy
folk is built so your private life stays private:
- we don't train on your data. your conversations and memory are yours.
- your own space. folk runs in an isolated environment dedicated to your account — it's not sharing a brain with other people.
- you stay in control. folk asks before doing anything with real-world consequences, and you can clear your memory anytime.
for the full legal version, see the privacy policy and terms.
plans
folk has two paid plans, both with a free trial so you can really try it:
pro
the everyday plan for using folk as your personal assistant.
max
more headroom for heavier, more demanding use.
new accounts also get a short free preview before any plan, and there are better trial terms if a friend referred you. you can manage or cancel your plan anytime from billing in your dashboard.
want to cancel or delete your account entirely? both live in your dashboard settings — no email-us-to-cancel nonsense.
bring your own keys (optional)
this one's for power users and you can completely ignore it otherwise.
if you have your own api keys for providers like openai, anthropic, or others, you can plug them into folk so your usage runs on your own accounts. two ways:
- in the dashboard — settings → your keys, where they're stored encrypted.
- in the chat — just tell folk and hand it the key; it'll save it securely.
most people never need this. folk works great out of the box — byok is just there if you specifically want to use your own provider accounts.
